Got a recipe worth $50,000? General Mills would like to know

The Fifth Annual Neighborhood-To-Nation Recipe Contest sponsored by General Mills just kicked off… and the Grand Prize winner will be awarded $50,000 in cash and prizes.

Two winners across five U.S. regions—a total of 10 winners—will each be awarded cash and prizes worth $21,000.  One of the regional winners will be named for the Grand Prize.  The prize packages include major local marketing and PR in each winner’s market, donations to the winner’s favorite charity and, of course, $5,000 to $10,000 in cash!

The contest is open to independent restaurant owners and professional chefs and cooks only (sorry, no consumers or chains over 19 units).  Perhaps even more valuable is the increased business as a winner.  Last year’s winner, Dennis Chan of Jacksonville, Florida, said he’s seen a 3o-percent sales increase since winning the Grand Prize in 2018.

Deadline is April 30, 2019.  Recipes must use at least one qualifying product from Gold Medal, Pillsbury, Yoplait or Mountain High.
