Food Brand Nation is a podcast dedicated to foodservice product manufacturers — specifically for marketing and sales folks.
Each brief show provides perspective on how to reach and influence customers based on feedback we receive from independent operators and DSRs every week.
The show is produced by the Association for Foodservice Distributor Representatives (AFDR) and Restaurant Product Finder.

Transparency, traceability… the new foodservice marketing wave

We recently chatted with Katy Jones, FoodLogiQ’s chief marketing and strategy officer, about using the emerging world of applying technology to track each step of a food product from field to fork.

OK, so what does traceability, recall management, supplier monitoring — “transparency” in general — have to do with sales and marketing?

Well it all starts with the Food Safety Modernization Act that is rolling out.  Study up if you haven’t heard about it.

In a nutshell, marketers will face more pressure to prove their marketing claims.  All natural?  Local?  No antibiotics ever? rBST-free?

Prove it!

Fortunately, new technology like FoodLogiQ, will help you do it.  In fact, proactively using transparency processes could be the next big marketing wave — especially when reaching out to colleges and universities and chains.

Listen in as we discuss the new marketing realities.
